About Thad

Thad Parmenter is a realist painter based in Taunton, Massachusetts. He earned his BFA in Graphic Design and Illustration from the New England School of Art & Design and works primarily in oil while also exploring watercolor and mixed media.

His ongoing series, Echoes: A Conversation with the Past, explores memory, reflection, and the passage of time through collections of everyday objects and childhood keepsakes. Rather than focusing on nostalgia alone, the series examines how seemingly ordinary possessions become tied to the people, places, and experiences that shape our lives. These objects serve as touchstones to the past, inviting reflection on who we were, who we have become, and the enduring connections between the two.

An Exhibiting Member of the Plymouth Center for the Arts, Thad's work has been recognized in numerous juried exhibitions, including Best in Show at the Plymouth Center for the Arts 55th Annual Juried Exhibition for Yesterday's Toys, the first painting in the Echoes series, and First Place in Oil/Acrylic at the 54th Annual Juried Exhibition.
